Forged in 2001 under Team Houston, our weightlifting journey has been defined by relentless pursuit and uncompromising standards. In 2008, we emerged as Sandusky Weightlifting—built not just to compete, but to dominate. Since then, we’ve produced 10 USA Weightlifting National Champions and elite athletes who’ve represented the U.S. on the international stage. Our impact goes beyond the platform, with former lifters excelling in NCAA Division I wrestling and beyond. After a brief hiatus, the fire was reignited in 2023. Now reborn as Sandusky Weightlifting LLC, we’ve reestablished our presence with renewed intensity. Inside the Icehouse, our training ground, we’re not just continuing a legacy—we’re raising the bar. The mission is clear: develop champions, push limits, and shape athletes who refuse to settle for anything less than greatness.
Coach Ryan Kyle
A USA Weightlifting National Coach with over 20 years of experience, Coach Kyle has trained multiple National Champions and National Team members. He specializes in refining technique, building strength, and instilling the mental toughness required for competition at the highest levels. His passion for the sport is matched only by his commitment to helping athletes break through their barriers and become champions.

”Original Coach Kyle”
A USA Weightlifting Club Coach, Original Coach Kyle brings 20 years of coaching expertise to our team, focusing on sports-specific strength and Olympic weightlifting technique. Having mentored athletes who’ve gone on to become national-level competitors in weightlifting and wrestling and members of Team USA, Coach Kyle combines his past experiences as a powerlifter and Olympic weightlifting coach, ensuring every lifter receives the individual attention they need to succeed.
Coach Leslie Drury
USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach, Coach Leslie has a passion for both competitive weightlifting and strength training for sports performance. Known for her methodical approach to teaching proper technique, Coach Leslie is dedicated to helping athletes achieve podium finishes at national competitions and beyond. Her coaching style blends progressive training with a sharp focus on technique and building mental toughness.
